Meet the Founder

My name is Lydia, and I am a humble proud mother of three lovely children. I have worked in Early Years since 2018 as a Nursery Practitioner and established My Precious Gems in 2021.

I hold a Level 3 Qualification in Childcare and Education and currently serve as the Designated safeguarding lead of the setting.

I am First Aid trained with experience working with children with SEND. I am Ofsted registered with a Good rating.

I also hold certifications in Food Hygiene (Level 2), Safeguarding, and Prevent Training. I am committed to continuous professional development to remain competent in providing safe, quality childcare.

Parent/ carer partnership

We want to make sure each child's individual needs are met by having a good and open communication with our parents to share what your children have been up to while in the setting. We also appreciate following and doing this at home with the children, like creating story time, supporting potty trainings ,etc. We are working on an app shortly that would help to send daily moments and routine of the children to you which you can also respond back . Do watch out for this!

Eco forest school

We are working on developing this to help children know and understand that food waste can be used as soil . We want to work on planting our very own veggies and have a natural habitat to reduce waste to save the planet

Healthy eating

Healthy eating is essential for children’s growth and development. It boosts their focus and energy for learning and play. During mealtimes, we model good table manners and encourage children to explore their food — naming colours, discussing the benefits of fruits and vegetables, and learning about balanced diets. By creating a calm and supportive atmosphere, children become more willing to eat independently. For those not ready to join, we offer a gentle rolling mealtime to ensure no one is left out.
